It's that time of year again. Time for the fall leaves, cool weather and BBQ! Come out to visit us at Hardscrabble Day in the Heart of Red Hook NY. Or check us out at the new Equine Equine Equine Festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Both Events are on September 19th from 10 am to 7pm. Hardscrabble is Red Hooks annual town festival with street wide yard sales, awesome entertainment, and of course great food! This year High Country Que would like to show their support for our Uniformed Police officers by inviting them to come and enjoy lunch and/or dinner on us! Hope to see everyone there, and looking forward to meeting everyone!

It was a beautiful day for a wedding at Montgomery Place! Kim & Konstantin said their vows over looking the Hudson River in wonderful ceremony. Dinner and dancing ensued all night. Toasts were had and swords flew for this magical day!
We were so excited to be a part of this festival this year and can not wait until next years!!! We were tasked with making at least one item on the menu with bacon. So we made our Cheesy mac with bourbon glazed bacon which flew out the door. We also made some bourbon meatball sliders with bacon. We had our great friend join us for the day and he was making chocolate covered bacon sticks. Man were they good! It was a blast! Thanks to my team for the long hours and hard work!! A couple of you were over nighters with Joe and I and I know you were feeling it! Thank you to Jon Newcomer for lending his hands and countless other things that day! Sure happy you were there!
We had a beautiful day and a beautiful setting for an awesome fundraising event. The Schatzel family can sure thrown a hoe down like no other! The had Sean Landeta there from the Giants signing autographs. That was an awesome addition to the day! We look forward to next years event!!
Fundraising at the aerodrome is always a fun time! Getting to see the old planes and read the rich history is some of my favorites of this day! Seeing the progress each fundraiser provides this gem of the Hudson Valley is very uplifting for us to be a part of. Can't wait for the next one.
Man it have been quite the bbq season! I have not posted to this blog in quite some time. My apologies!!! I will spend some time uploading pics from events starting way back in May during this week and next. Keeps your eyes out for them, they have all been fantasti

I don't know about Jay & Beth but this Saturday can't come fast enough! I believe the last tasting we did was in December. It's like having an itch that ya can't scratch when you can't do what you love! This weekends menu was designed to satisfy both parties as Beth is a vegetarian and Jay still loves the caveman ways!!
High Country Que will be hosting a couple this weekend for a Wedding Tasting. Their going to be married at Croton on the Hudson. It's been almost a year since I married Joe there. I would be thrilled to cater this wedding! Can't wait to meet Beth and her fiance` Jay!!
Are you planning your wedding during these cold months? Thinking about BBQ for your event?
We hold tastings once a month. Give us a call and set your time!
October 5th was a beautiful day for a wedding! The weather was perfect and the setting was gorgeous! Erika & Dan chose Mount Gulian for there event and it could not be more perfect. https://posthaven.com/mountgulian.org.
For there menu the beautiful couple chose to start with a couple of passed crostini's and a cheese and cracker station. Erika's mother also brought some chicken & beef empanadas and nice little tea sandwiches to add to the cheese station. Rounded the table out nicely. For dinner the couple chose to have it served Family Style. Each table had platters of Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken Breast, Mac & Cheese & of course our signature salad. It was a nice change to serve this way.
Erika's decor was outstanding! From the flag runners made of maps to the beautiful owl vases that held simple but impressive paper flowers. The mini white pumpkins on the sage green napkins finished the gorgeous family china!
This was a beautiful way to end our season! (even if we did get soaked and full of mud at clean up) It was a fun event with the best crew!
Here's a little note I received from the mother of the bride.
You were absolutely fabulous! Thank you for dealing with Durants a the last minute. Your staff was wonderfull, very accomodating and attentive. So many of the guests told me how much they loved the food. They raved about the pull pork , chicken mac n cheesse and your salad ..delicious. Your guidance for the whole process was great help to me. I couldn't have asked for more! Thank you for helping to make Erika n Dan wedding a success! The happy mother of the bride~~~~ Luz M Caze"

We spent this weekend in a beautiful old Dairy barn perched on a mountainside in the Catskills. We had to hike the equipment up there a couple days early because of the rainy weather we have been having around here. What a day this was.
Nancy and Andy had there 4 beautiful boys walk them down the isle, and the pre walk huddle was pretty emotional for those of us who saw.
Wishing Nancy, Andy and the boys a beautiful life!
There are a few moments in life that you will remember forever. June 1st is one of those moments I will remember forever. It is the day I married the other half of my soul! Joe and I have been together for 19 years. We have 4 great kids together and have built ourselves a pretty great life! When he's not out there mowing lawns he's helping me with the BBQ catering, which he loves. Me and lawns, not so much!
The entire weekend was a magical weekend filled with the best family and friends. Everyone pulled together, worked real hard, got a little crazy and made the day wonderful! I love you all, Thank you all for everything you did for us!
Joyelle & Peter were married on May 25th at a cute little church here in Clermont. There reception was held at New Yorks first public school. Gorgeous, historic little place. Joyelle's mother, Desiree did a fantastic job decorating for her beautiful daughters special day.
Cooking that day was quite the challenge. We had a spring noreaster come up the coast and the wind blew with force. I was stirring with one hand and holding the tent (with 3 other people mind you) with the other. It can only be described as Forces Of Nature! In the end it tured out to be a beautiful evening!
